Designer bags — intake matters
Designer leather bags carry specific care requirements that vary by brand and leather type. Lambskin, exotic leathers, hand-painted edges, and unfinished raw leather all behave differently in cleaning. We document existing condition at intake — every scuff, every loose edge — before accepting. Some designer pieces with delicate finishes may need a restoration specialist rather than cleaning; we'll tell you honestly.
BGC leather rotation
BGC residents tend to clean leather more frequently than Makati residents — closer to once a year for regularly worn pieces, compared to the every-two-or-three-years pattern more common in Makati. That's better for the leather: regular cleaning and conditioning extends the wear cycle significantly compared to letting pollution and perspiration accumulate.
Our leather process
- Pre-clean inspection of cracks, peeling, color fade, lining condition.
- Hand-cleaning with leather-safe solvent — not standard fabric dry cleaning fluid.
- Conditioning to replace natural oils stripped by cleaning.
- Suede pieces brushed back to nap after cleaning.
- Final quality inspection — color, hand-feel, lining.
